That's Going To Leave A Mark
Sin always leaves a mark. In this message, we look at one of the darkest chapters in David’s life—his adultery with Bathsheba, the cover-up that cost Uriah his life, and the painful fallout that followed.
David, the man after God’s own heart, never imagined he would end up here. But step by step, compromise by compromise, he traveled down the road of sin. What began as temptation turned into full-blown rebellion against God. David thought he could hide it, but God sent Nathan the prophet to confront him: *“You are the man!”*
This passage reminds us of some sobering truths:
* Temptation must be resisted at the start—who you decide to be in advance matters.
* Covering sin never works—it only deepens the damage.
* God forgives when we repent, but sin still carries real and lasting consequences.
David’s story shows both the heaviness of sin and the hope of grace. Though his choices brought pain, his repentance brought restoration. God’s forgiveness was greater than David’s failure, and the same is true for us today.
If you’ve been hiding, running, or covering up sin, this message is for you. Stop now. Own up before God. Experience His mercy, and let Him restore what sin has tried to destroy.
